Iowa City Reggae Fest 2024
May 4, 2024 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm Fairmeadows Park, 2451 Miami Dr,, Iowa City, IA, United States, Iowa 52240
This is the first of its kind Reggae Fest in Iowa City. This idea comes from the mind of local business owner Richiard Rodney. Mr. Rodney is originally from Jamaica and has been serving up Jamaican Jerk and BBQ in this community for many years. If you have ever driven down Gilbert St you can always see his bright yellow truck.
The Move Ya Body Reggae Fest will be celebrated this year on May 4, 2024, from 3pm to 6:30 pm at Fairmeadows Park in Iowa City, IA. We have procured food, a reggae band Indika WSG XXXX, a Star Wars-themed challenge course, and a Family Information Fair to give information about Reggae and help connect to local resources and much more! The event is free to the public

18 - Haitian Flag Day
Haitian Flag Day
May 18, 2024
https://encyclopedia2.thefreedictionary.com/Haitian+Flag+Day
Haitian Flag Day is observed on May 18 in Haiti and in a number of U.S. cities with large populations of Haitian Americans. Many Africans of the diaspora, regardless of their ancestry, also join in the holiday celebration, because it commemorates the slave revolt in Haiti that led to the country's independence from France and also prompted slave uprisings in America.
